Bearberry - Brown Spot Rescue
While bearberry has many benefits, it’s main skin benefit is that it is a natural form of alpha arbutin!
Hello, beautiful people!
Bearberry is quite a powerful ingredient and it’s natural…that’s why we use it in our Rapid Brightening Serum.
Bearberry is a shrub native to Northern Europe and the Arctic and Subarctic Region. Also known as uva uvsi and kinninnick (I love this name!), bearberry has long been used in Northern Europe for skin rejuvenation.
While bearberry has many benefits, it’s main skin benefit is that it is a natural form of alpha arbutin. Alpha arbutin blocks the key enzyme necessary for melanocytes (skin cells) to produce extra brown pigment. When this enzyme, tyrosinase, is inhibited, the cells cannot produce brown pigment as well.
For you, the end result is that brown pigment doesn’t form as easily…so those pesky brown spots that we all dread don’t form. And if you already have brownspots, with this enzyme blocked, the pigment can fade away.
There are a lot of ingredients out there that treat brown spots, like hydroquinone. But with questions about their safety, why not choose a safer natural alternative?
