At ANJALI MD, we believe beautiful skin comes from skincare and nutrition. While we incorporate botanical ingredients from around the world into our skincare products, we are always encouraging eating superfoods that benefit the skin.
Blueberries are one of my all-time favorite skin foods because they calm the skin. Inflammation contributes to a number of skin issues, including aging, wrinkles and discoloration. The blueberry has been shown to reduce interleukins (chemical signals) that increase inflammation, while also increasing pathways that decrease inflammation.
Blueberries are also a great source of antioxidants, that protect skin against the daily damage. And because they are full of vitamins (especially VitaminC), they lead to a more even complexion.
All in all, they are delicious, nutritous and great for the skin!
